Finally finished the board this weekend! I will still add a few more coats of varnish but the epoxy work is complete, and the maiden voyage took place up in Maine yesterday.
After a few minutes of paddling around and ensuring that there were no leaks, we decided to put it to a real test. Not a lot of waves 5 miles inland from the ocean, so we used the boat to make our own. So much fun. I think if there was less wind, and if I stood a bit farther up on the nose, I'd be able to ride the wake alongside the boat for as long as my legs would allow.
Not exactly beach weather in Maine yesterday, but that didn't stop us from having a great time.
Waist high surf in NY this week, so you may see the log out in the lineup at dawn patrol for her first real wave testing. Pics to follow.
